🌟 Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations in the machinery manufacturing sector. This role is critical in ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials that meet engineering specifications and production demands. The Purchasing Manager will oversee supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage inventory to align with production schedules.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with organizational objectives
• Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, mechanical components, fabrication services, and assemblies
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve best value while maintaining quality standards
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure technical compliance
• Maintain accurate inventory levels in line with production forecasts
• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when needed
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier consolidation and process improvements
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and regulatory requirements
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems for purchasing activities and inventory transactions
• Prepare reports on procurement metrics including cost, quality, and delivery

🎯 Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing or supply chain management experience in manufacturing (preferably machinery or heavy equipment)
• Strong knowledge of mechanical components, steel fabrication, hydraulics, and commodity materials
• Proven negotiation skills and supplier relationship management experience
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to read technical drawings and understand engineering requirements
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

🌱 Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
• CPM certification
• Experience in ISO9001:2015 certified manufacturing operations
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or just-in-time inventory systems
• Familiarity with international sourcing and logistics

🏭 Work Environment

This is a hybrid role requiring presence at both Manteca and Gridley locations. The position involves a mix of indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to hot work, chemicals, paints, and varying temperatures. Fieldwork may include navigating uneven surfaces, noise, and outdoor conditions.
